Simona Chavarria Jimenez, age 84, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Kermit, TX. She was born October 28, 1926 in Terlingua, TX to Domingo and Agripina (Gonzalez) Chavarria.
Simona was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and sang in the church choir. She loved going to the lake with her family and dancing. She served at the hospital for several years as a Pink Lady.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband: Merced Jimenez of Kermit; two sons: Wally Jimenez of San Diego, CA and Ruben Jimenez and wife Diane of San Antonio, TX; one sister: Mary Gomez of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Domingo and Agripina Chavarria; one brother: Eladio; three sisters: Dominga, Juliana, and Pina; and one grandson.
Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, with Father Richard Waiwood officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit.
