MIDLAND — Pedro C. “Pete” Garcia, a Terlingua native and former Alpine resident, died Friday, October 22, 2010.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Garcia was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Terlingua to Tomasa and Victoriano Garcia and grew up in Alpine. On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Florentina Loera. Mr. Garcia was an Army veteran of World War II and worked at WTX Office Supply, Superior Oil and Mobil Oil.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marcelina Cordova and Estefana Sandate; and two brothers, Raynaldo Garcia and Manuel Garcia.
Survivors include his wife, Florentina Garcia; his children, Isela Mejia and husband Neto, Hector Garcia and wife Sonia, Maria Perez and husband Ruperto Jr., Alejandra Arellano and husband Jonathan, and Leo Arrieta; grandchildren, Nicole Mejia, Amanda Garcia, Justin Garcia, Ian Perez, Ian Arellano, Stephen Arrieta and Nick Arrieta; and three sisters, Eduvina Lara, Carolina Tellez and Virginia Dominguez.
