Olivia Celaya, 49, of Marathon, died Sept. 30, 1988, in Brewster Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Services were Oct. 3 in the First Baptist Church in Marathon with burial in the Marathon Cemetery, directed by Geeslin Funeral Home of Alpine. Ministers were Rev. Juan Ponce, Rev. Stanley Cox and Fr. John Telles.
She was born Nov. 2, 1938 in Alpine. She was a lifetime resident of Marathon and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Amelia Martin of Anacoco, La., Diana DeLaO and Irma Vargas, both of Fort Stockton, Paula Fierro and Regina Garcia, both of Marathon; three sons, Hilario Celaya of Pecos; Alfredo Celaya of Clute and Noel Fierro of Marathon; her mother, Mauricia Fierro of Marathon; three sisters, Ida Herrera of Pecos, Mary Kay Romero of Dallas and Florencia Garcia of Houston; two brothers, Timoteo Fierro of San Antonio and Raymundo Fierro of Fort Stockton; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hilario Celaya, Alfredo Celaya, Noel Fierro, Walter Martin, Timoteo Fierro Jr. and Benny Fierro.
