Genovevo Salmon Granado, 98, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 in Crane, Texas. He was born January 2, 1914 to Gil Lujan Granado and Longina Salmon in Terlingua, Texas. Rosary and Funeral service was held Tuesday, February.14, 2012 in the Old Community Center in Imperial, Texas with Deacon Julio Carrasco officiating. Interment followed at the Imperial Cemetery in Imperial, Texas. Genovevo married Felicita Acosta in 1945. Genovevo (Vevo) best known in Imperial for his goats. He would sit at the gas station and at home outside and wave to people. He loved music, dancing, puzzles, cards and shelling pecans. He had a very good memory and people from surrounding areas would come and ask questions. Everyone loved Vevo and he will be missed.

Survivors include his son, Domingo Acosta Sr. of Imperial, Texas; daughter-in-law Margarita Acosta of Imperial, Texas; seven grandchildren, Corina and Eric Gomez of Lubbock, Texas, Domingo Jr. and Loretta Acosta of El Paso, Texas, Roy and Arlina Acosta of Miles, Texas, Tony and Paz Acosta of Odessa, Texas, Ricky and Crystal Acosta of Midland, Texas, Jesse and Misty Acosta of Odessa, Texas and Reymundo Garcia Jr. and Tina of Farmers Branch, Texas; 17 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his spouse, Felicita Acosta; great great grandson Saul Acosta Dominguez,Jr.; sisters, Julia Granado, Manuela Granado, Rosa Granado, Maria Granado and Santiaga Granado; brothers, Balbino Granado, Domingo Granado and Maruo Granado. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton, Texas.
