Felipe Ramos, 87, died early Sunday, Oct 17, 1971, in Brewster Memorial Hospital here.

Rosary services were held Monday night, Oct 18, in Geeslin Chapel. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Calles officiating. Burial was in Holy Angels Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Parras Jr., Dan Portillo Jr., Lionel Ramos, Dan Martinez, Alberto Hernandez and Pete Munoz.

He was born May 1, 1884 in Ojinaga, Mexico. He had worked in mines at Shafter and Terlingua before moving to Alpine, where he had lived for the past 30 years.

Survivors include 6 daughters, Mrs. Pabla Muniz of Odessa, Mrs. Alvina Martinez of Oakland, Calif. and Mrs. Ramona Parras, Mrs. Eulalia Portillo, Mrs. Lucia Ramirez and Mrs. Manuela Cobos, all of Alpine; 6 sons Felipe Ramos Jr. of Reno, Nev., Enrique Ramos of Fresno, Calif., Andres Ramos of Alameda, Calif., Pedro Ramos of Pecos, Juan Ramos and Otilio Ramos, both of Alpine; 2 sisters, Concha Ramos and Maria Ramos, both of Chihuahua, Mexico; 4 brothers, Martin Ramos of Peoria, Ariz., Juan Ramos of Arizona, Senforiano Ramos of Ojinaga and Cruz Ramos of Monahans, 66 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
