Celso Martinez, 82, of Lubbock and a former resident of Marfa, died Tuesday, August 13, 1992, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lubbock.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. tonight at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Norman Bernstein officiating. Burial will follow at Merced Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.
He was born July 28, 1910, in Terlingua. He was a retired machinist, and a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Oneximo “Mo” Martinez of Lubbock, and Octavio Martinez of Pecos; three daughters, Francisca Velasco of Odessa, Eduvigen Zamora of San Antonio and Esperanza Glacken of Rochester, Wash.; three brothers, Chevo Martinez of Marfa, Manuel Martinez of Bakersfield, Calif., and Juan Martinez of Marathon; 9 sisters, Paula Uranga of Marfa, Barbara Fuentes of Candelaria, Salome Dominguez of Bakersfield, Calif., Juana Gonzales of San Antonio, Maria Bautista of Amarillo, Francisca Jimenez and Cruz Dominguez both of El Paso, Luz McGuire of Odessa and Anita Dominguez of Mesa, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Martinez, James Martinez, Victor Martinez, Danny Zamora, Adan Velasco and Alfonso Velasco Jr.

Onexicmo “Mo” Martinez, 51, of Lubbock died Tuesday Jan. 25, 1994 in Silver City, NM, Gila Regional Medical Center.
Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Norman Bernstein officiating. Burial followed at Merced Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born February 16, 1942, in Terlingua. He was a machine installation engineer and a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Belle Martinez of Lubbock; a brother, Octavio Martinez of Pecos; three sisters, Francisca Velasco of Odessa, Eduvigen Zamora of San Antonio and Esperanza Glacken of Rochester, Wash.; three sons, Victor Martinez of Lubbock, Ivan Martinez of El Paso and James Martinez of Lubbock; a daughter, Yvette Holguin of El Paso; one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Phillip Cordero, Edwardo Vallejo, John A. Candelaria, Mariano Mirelez, Erasmo Acosta and Tony Alarcon.

Maria “Mary” Franco Vega, age 61, of Grandfalls, passed away Friday, September 9, 2005 at her home. She was born January 11, 1944 in Buena Suerte, Texas, to Francisco and Tomasa (Hinojos) Franco. She married Jesus Vega in December, 1963, in Alpine, Texas. A funeral mass in Alpine, and a memorial service in Grandfalls will be held later in the week. Burial will be in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Alpine. Services are under the direction of Family Funeral Services.
Survivors are her husband, Jesus Vega of Grandfalls, and sons, Jesse Vega of Grandfalls, Danny Vega of San Antonio, and David “Gis” Vega of Ft. Worth. Also a daughter, Angie Portillo of Alpine. She is also survived by her brothers, Joe Franco, Jesus Franco and Frank Franco all of Alpine, and sisters, Maye Salgado of Odessa and Margie Urquidez of Globe, Arizona.

Isabel Villa, 92, of Alpine, died Dec. 31, 2007, in Alpine.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine with burial in the church cemetery directed by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home of Pecos. Rosary was recited Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Villa was born Nov. 5, 1915 in Lajitas to Severiana Alvarado and Macario Hinojos. She was a lifetime resident of Alpine and was married to Teodoro Villa of Alpine. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Elijio Acosta and Douglas Acosta.
Survivors include four sons, Antonio Acosta of Lubbock, Erasmo Acosta of Pecos, Francisco Villa of Kansas and Tivorcio Villa of Odessa; three daughters, Petra Benevidez of Alpine, Mary Acosta of Midland and Rita Villa De Grado of Mexico; one brother, Santiago Hinojos of Odessa; 50 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren.
