Albert “Beto” Chavarria, 58, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Michael Villareal officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born Nov. 18, 1953, in Big Spring to Sara and Eulalio Chavarria. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and worked as a roustabout in the oil field. He married Maria Holguin on Aug. 6, 2011, in Big Spring. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Chavarria of Big Spring; four sons, Albert Chavarria Jr. and wife Genoveva of Anchorage, Alaska, Felix Chavarria of Austin, David Chavarria and Rey Chavarria and wife Bentura, all of Big Spring; two daughters, Erica Holguin and husband Martin and Emily Holguin, all of Big Spring; 18 grandchildren; and four sisters, Yolanda Villareal and husband Ed of Odessa, Olga Chavarria, Melinda Cano and Rosa Pineda, all of Big Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward “Lalo” Chavarria and David Chavarria; and one sister, Paula Villareal.
