Wenceslado Ramirez was born in 1867 in Ojinaga, Mexico. He was the son of Jesus Ramirez and Natividad Carrasco. (http://www.lifebeforetheruins.com/marcos-ramirez.html has more information on this family) Wenceslado married Juana Suchil May 26, 1890 in Jesus Nazareno Temple, Ojinaga. She was born in 1872 in Julimes, Mexico, the daughter of Jacinto Suchil and Antonia Contreras. Wenceslado and Juana immigrated to the United States in 1899 and settled in an area known as Sierra Chino, about 15 miles downriver from Castolon. He farmed and ranched in that area at least until 1920. Nothing is known about Wenceslado after 1920. Juana was living with her son Manuel in the Castolon area in May 1940, but nothing is known of her after that. Wenceslado and Juana had twelve children:
1. Son Teniente Ramirez died in 1918, but nothing more is known about him.
2. Son Eustaquio Ramirez was born circa 1890 in Mexico. He married Maria Lujan, born in 1898. They lived in the Lajitas/Terlingua area. After Eustaquio died circa 1925, Maria went to live with his cousin Tiburcio Ramirez in La Coyota. Maria died in La Coyota in 1926 and is buried in La Coyota Cemetery. They had two children, who were raised by relatives after the death of their parents: |

A. Daughter German Ramirez was born May 2, 1918 in Lajitas. After the deaths of her parents she initially lived with the Tiburcio Ramirez family in La Coyota. In April 1930 she was living with the family of her aunt Elijia Ramirez Lopez in Terlingua. She moved to Alpine circa 1934, where she met Ezequiel Rivera, son of Pablo Rivera. They were married in Alpine December 10, 1939 by Rev. Felix Alonso.

From 1942 to 1945 Ezequiel served with the U.S. Army Air Force 918th Air Engineer Squadron, 5600 Air Service Group. After the war he help build the Alpine VFW, which later became VFW Post 7207. For 45 years he worked for Alpine Lumber Company (which later became Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Co.), working his way up to manager. German died in Regency Hospital, Odessa July 19, 2007. Ezequiel died August 3, 2008 in Veterans Administration Hospital, Big Spring. They are buried in Holy Angels Cemetery.
German and Ezequiel had two children:
(1) Son Ezequiel Rivera was born October 17, 1942 in Alpine. In July 2007 he and his wife Dorkmai were living in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. They have one child:
a. Son Johnathon Andrew Rivera.
(2) Daughter Ermelinda Rivera was born June 20, 1947 in Alpine. Her married name is Carmon and in July 2007 she was living in Alpine.
B. Daughter Maria Elena “Mary Helen” Ramirez was born August 16, 1923 in Terlingua. In 1940 she was living with the Tiburcio Ramirez family in La Coyota. On July 1, 1944 she married Vicente Urquieta in Alpine. He was born in Terlingua July 24, 1924, the son of Juan Urquieta and Mauricia Martinez. They made their home in Odessa, where Vicente worked as a laborer in the construction industry. On December 19, 1866 he died from hemorrhaging after accidently running his arm through a glass door. Maria Elena was still living in the Odessa area in 2012. They had three children. 3. Daughter Sara Ramirez was born April 24, 1890 in Mexico. She married Leonidez Valenzuela, who was born in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico circa 1881. By 1910 they had settled in the Terlingua area. Between January and November 1918 Leonidez sold over 27 cords of fuel wood to the Study Butte Mining Company for $265.00, and between January 1918 and April 1919 he worked on the furnace crew for the same company. He worked an average of 31 shifts per month, with an average monthly income of $38.81.
Around 1923 Sara and Leonidez moved to Alpine. In April 1940 they were living on South 10th Street and Leonidez was working as a cowboy on a ranch. In 1948 they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Leonidez died in Carlsbad in 1962. Sara remained in Carlsbad until 1978, when she moved to Loving, New Mexico to live with her daughter Fidela. She died in Loving in October 1979. Sara and Leonidez are both buried in Santa Catalina Cemetery in Carlsbad. They had eight children:
A. Daughter Vera Valenzuela was born circa 1909. She was living with her parents in the Terlingua area in 1920.
Around 1923 Sara and Leonidez moved to Alpine. In April 1940 they were living on South 10th Street and Leonidez was working as a cowboy on a ranch. In 1948 they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. B. Son Manuel Valenzuela was born May 1, 1910 in Terlingua. On February 3, 1934 he married Jesus Tarango in Alpine. She was born September 1, 1909 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua. Mexico, the daughter of Remedios Tarango and Julia Molinar.
Manuel worked for the Zeb Diece Ranch for 25 years. He died in Alpine May 19, 2003 and Jesus died in Odessa May 4, 2010. They are buried in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Manuel and Jesus had eight children:
(1) Son Jose “Joe” Valenzuela was born in Brewster County September 3, 1934. In May 2010 he was living in Odessa.
(2) Son Manuel Valenzuela, Jr. was born February 20, 1936 in Alpine. He died in Alpine March 19, 2004. Manuel married Margarita Torres October 22, 1955 in Brewster County and they had five children:
a. Daughter Sandra Valenzuela was born May 1, 1956 in Brewster County.
b. Daughter Gloria Valenzuela was born March 16, 1957 in Brewster County.
c. Son Manuel Valenzuela III was born March 27, 1958 in Brewster County.
d. Daughter Maria De Lourdes Valenzuela was born August 19, 1961 in Brewster County.
e. Son Ricardo Torres Valenzuela was born December 3, 1964 in Brewster County.
a. Daughter Sandra Valenzuela was born May 1, 1956 in Brewster County.
b. Daughter Gloria Valenzuela was born March 16, 1957 in Brewster County.

b. Daughter Maria Ida Valenzuela was born February 28, 1957 in Brewster County.
c. Daughter Jesusita Valenzuela was born January 30, 1960 in Brewster County.
d. Daughter Sara Valenzuela was born January 22, 1963 in Andrews County.

(4) Daughter Maria Julia Valenzuela was born December 1, 1937 in Alpine. Her married name was Leyva. In May 2003 she was living in Alpine. She died in Arlington, Texas October 3, 2010 and is buried in Holy Angels Cemetery, Alpine. She had one child:
a. Daughter Celina Leyva was living in Grand Prairie, Texas in October 2010. Her married name is Olivas.

(5) Son Reymundo Valenzuela was born October 20, 1939 in Brewster County. He was living in Odessa in October 2010. He married Jesusita Portillo and they had two children:
a. Son Reymundo Valenzuela was born in Brewster County August 19, 1963.
b. Daughter Maria Teresa Valenzuela was born June 30, 1964 in Brewster County.
(6) Son Alfonso Valenzuela was born July 16, 1941. In October 2010 he was living in Andrews County. He married Maria Elisa Garcia May 29, 1965 in Brewster County and they had three children:
a. Daughter Elsie Valenzuela was born September 13, 1966 in Andrews County.
b. Daughter Elva Grace Valenzuela was born December 22, 1967 in Brewster County.
c. Son Alfonso Garcia Valenzuela was born May 6, 1973 in Brewster County.

(7) Son George Washington Valenzuela was born February 22, 1945 in Brewster County. On May 4, 1968 he married Maria Elena Williams in Brewster County and they had three children:
a. Daughter Leticia Valenzuela was born November 8, 1969 in Brewster County.
b. Daughter Sonya Williams Valenzuela was born March 23, 1973 in Brewster County.
c. Daughter Rebecca Williams Valenzuela was born August 23 1976 in Brewster County.
George Washington Valenzuela married Rose Sabina Morales circa 1978 and they had one child:
a. Son George Armando Morales Valenzuela was born March 23, 1980 in Brewster County.
(8) Son Joe Valenzuela was born July 18, 1948 in Brewster County. In October 2010 he was living in Odessa.
a. Daughter Leticia Valenzuela was born November 8, 1969 in Brewster County.

George Washington Valenzuela married Rose Sabina Morales circa 1978 and they had one child:

(8) Son Joe Valenzuela was born July 18, 1948 in Brewster County. In October 2010 he was living in Odessa.
C. Daughter Juana Valenzuela was born in Texas circa 1914. She had one child:
(1) Daughter Pilar Valenzuela was born circa 1928 in Texas.
D. Daughter Eulalia “Lala” Valenzuela was born December 10, 1920 in Terlingua. In October 1979 she was living in Litchfield Park, Arizona. She died there in 2011.
Eulalia married Miguel Hernandez June 4, 1939 in Brewster County. He was born July 18, 1911 in Terlingua, the son of Florencio Hernandez and Ester Cordova. Miguel worked in the mercury mines in Study Butte. On February 1, 1943, while working in the mine, he was killed by an accidental explosion of dynamite. Simon Franco, a local resident, was hired to transport the body in his pickup truck to Alpine, where Eulalia and the children lived. Miguel is buried in Holy Angels Cemetery

(2) Son Raul Hernandez was born December 23, 1941 in Brewster County. He died in California February 3, 2009.
(3) Daughter Maria Hernandez was born in Brewster County May 25, 1943 (nearly four months after her father’s death)
Circa 1948 Eulalia married Jesus Portillo. They had no children.
E. Son Juan Valenzuela was born June 24, 1923 in Alpine. In April 1940 he was living with his parents at their home on South 10th Street, Alpine.
F. Daughter Fidela Valenzuela was born April 24, 1925 in Alpine and in April 1940 was living with her parents at their home on South 10th Street in Alpine. On September 13, 1942 she married Domingo Granado in Alpine and they had five children. G. Daughter Anita Valenzuela was born August 14, 1930 in Alpine. In April 1940 she was living with her parents at their home on South 10th Street in Alpine. In 1948 she moved to Carlsbad. On October 16, 1952 she married Concepcion Guzman Carrasco. He was born December 8, 1923. Concepcion died in Carlsbad in May 1985. Anita died at her home in Carlsbad February 4, 2012 and is buried in Carlsbad. |

Anita and Concepcion had nine children:
(1) Son Concepcion Carrasco, Jr. was living in Carlsbad in February 2012.
(2) Daughter Elda Carrasco was living in Hobbs, New Mexico in February 2012.
(3) Daughter Edwina Carrasco was living in Carlsbad in February 2012. Her married name is Rico.
(4) Daughter Belinda Carrasco married Francisco Lopez. They were living in Midland in February 2012.
(5) Daughter Rose Ann Carrasco married Jose Garcia. They were living in Carlsbad in February 2012.
(6) Son Tommy Carrasco was living in Carlsbad in February 2012.
(7) Daughter Ida Mae Carrasco married Chuck Foster. They were living in Carlsbad in February 2012.
(8) Son Orlando Carrasco and his wife Patricia were living in Carlsbad in February 2012.
(9) An unnamed son died as an infant.
H. Daughter Maria Louisa Valenzuela was born July 21, 1933 in Alpine. In April 1940 she was living with her parents at their home on South 10th Street in Alpine. In May 2003 she was living in Carlsbad. Her married name is Viscaino.
4. Son Mariano Ramirez was born July 26, 1895 in Mexico. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1899 and probably lived with them in Sierra Chino. He eventually settled in La Coyota. Mariano married Lucia Galindo March 16, 1918 in Terlingua. They were married by Justice of the Peace Robert L. Cartledge. Lucia was born December 13, 1901 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Filomeno Galindo and Piedad Anaya. Mariano and Lucia lived in La Coyota until 1944, when they moved to Alpine. They eventually moved to Artesia, New Mexico. Mariano died there April 18, 1973 and Lucia died there November 8, 1992. They are buried in Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
Lucia had the opportunity to return to La Coyota in 1989. She remembered how much she loved living there.”Here we had no rent to pay, no utilities to break down. Life was hard, but simple, and we loved it.” Daughter Genoveva remembers that the family washed their clothing in the Rio Grande River, and that there was a stove there that was used to heat water. She also remembered carrying water in a bucket from the river to water the morning glories that she planted near the house. Genovev also tells about occasional visits from Teta, a friend from Juarez, Mexico. La Coyota residents were always happy to see her, because she told lots of interesting stories. Her last name may have been Briceño.

For most of his life Mariano worked as a farmer and a ranch laborer. But he also supplemented his income by selling timbers and fuel wood to the mercury mines and by hauling freight. The following is a summary of those activities:
- October 1917-October 1919 he sold nearly 75 cords of fuel wood to the Study Butte Mining Company for $560.25.
- In January 1917 he sold mine stulls to the Study Butte Mining Company for $14.00.
- In April 1924 he received $63.54 in cash from La Harmonia Co. in Castolon for hauling 3557 pounds of wax (36 sacks) to Marathon and 5520 pounds of acid to “Cerro Chino”. Manuel Silvas was on the same trip with a similar load.
- In June 1924 he received $45.39 from La Harmonia Co. for hauling. Domingo Chavarria was on the same trip.
- January-June 1926 he made four trips for La Harmonia Co., hauling cotton, store inventory and other cargo. He received $217.64 for these trips.
- February-March 1927 he made two trips for La Harmonia Co. hauling cotton, store inventory, parts for the cotton gin, and other cargo. He received $160.04 for these trips.
- February-March 1928 he made two trips for La Harmonia Co., earning $126.39.
- 1929 was a banner year for Mariano’s freighting business. He made 18 trips for La Harmonia Co., earning nearly $1,100.00. However, he spent nearly 250 days on the road to earn that amount. The trips required between 6 and 20 days to complete, with 14 days being the average.
- 1930 was Mariano’s final year in the freighting business for La Harmonia Co. He and Manuel Silvas made one trip in February, earning a total of $126.88.
In 1932 and 1933 Mariano worked part-time for Richard Derrick, probably on the Derrick farm just below Castolon. He earned $43.92 for this work. He also sold watermelons to Mr. Derrick for $5.90. In the 1930’s Mariano worked for James Sublett and Albert Dorgan, but no details are available.

The two children of Mariano and Lucia who survived were:
A. Daughter Germana Ramirez was born May 28, 1921 in Terlingua. In 1932-1933 she was a student at the Castolon School. In 1930 and 1940 she was living with her parents in La Coyota. Circa 1942 she married Jesus Abarca. They made their home in Baja California, where Germana died. They had three children:
(1) Son Jose Abarca was living in Tijuana, Mexico in November 2012.
(2) Daughter Lupita Abarca. She is deceased.
(3) Daughter Anita Abarca.
A. Daughter Germana Ramirez was born May 28, 1921 in Terlingua. In 1932-1933 she was a student at the Castolon School. In 1930 and 1940 she was living with her parents in La Coyota. Circa 1942 she married Jesus Abarca. They made their home in Baja California, where Germana died. They had three children:
(1) Son Jose Abarca was living in Tijuana, Mexico in November 2012.
(2) Daughter Lupita Abarca. She is deceased.
(3) Daughter Anita Abarca.

B. Daughter Genoveva Ramirez was born January 3, 1925 in Terlingua. She was living with her parents in La Coyota in 1930 and 1940 and attended school in Castolon in the 1930’s.
Genoveva married Alfonso Rodriguez July 28, 1946.
Alfonso and Genoveva were divorced in 1971. In September 2012 she was living near Odessa. A. Genoveva and Alfonso had five children. The first and the third died in childbirth, the first in Alpine and the third in Artesia, New Mexico. The first, who was unnamed, probably was buried in Alpine. The third, son Narciso, was buried in Artesia. The three children who survived were:
(1) Son Jose Alfonso Rodriguez was born December 19, 1948. He graduated from Artesia High School in New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972, during the Viet Nam War. Jose married Adelina Rayos. She was born November 4, 1950 in Reeves County, the daughter of Fabian Granillo Rayos and Apolonia Martinez Ornelas, Jose and Adelina were living in Odessa in November 2012. They had three children:
a. Daughter Naomi Jo Rodriguez was born May 15, 1973 in Odessa. She married Pablo Barrientos in Odessa August 4, 1995. In November 2012 they were living in Fort Richardson, Alaska.
b. Daughter Amy Marie Rodriguez was born December, 12, 1975 in Odessa. In November 2012 she was living in Odessa.
c. Son Christopher Robert Rodriguez was born in Odessa January 30, 1982. He was living in Odessa in November 2012. He has two children.

(2) Daughter Marta Rodriguez was born February 8, 1954. She married Alejandro Dimas in September 1972 and they had one child:

Marta and Alex divorced and she married Adan N. Ochoa in Monahans March 21, 1978. She was still living in Monahans in November 2012. Marta and Adan had one child:
a. Daughter Jessica Lucia Ochoa was born in Monahans June 8, 1979. She has two children:

(1) Son Jose Alfonso Rodriguez was born December 19, 1948. He graduated from Artesia High School in New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972, during the Viet Nam War. Jose married Adelina Rayos. She was born November 4, 1950 in Reeves County, the daughter of Fabian Granillo Rayos and Apolonia Martinez Ornelas, Jose and Adelina were living in Odessa in November 2012. They had three children:
a. Daughter Naomi Jo Rodriguez was born May 15, 1973 in Odessa. She married Pablo Barrientos in Odessa August 4, 1995. In November 2012 they were living in Fort Richardson, Alaska.
b. Daughter Amy Marie Rodriguez was born December, 12, 1975 in Odessa. In November 2012 she was living in Odessa.
c. Son Christopher Robert Rodriguez was born in Odessa January 30, 1982. He was living in Odessa in November 2012. He has two children.

5. Daughter Manuela Ramirez was born May 3, 1901 in Castolon. She was baptized in Terlingua September 22, 1901 by Father Brocardus. Her godparents were Hermenegildo Garcia and Gabina Hernandez. Manuela married Dulces Nombres Balderama February 14, 1921 in Brewster County. Dulces was born in Santa Isabel, Chihuahua, Mexico January 15, 1884. Until 1938 the couple lived in Terlingua, where Dulces worked as a mine laborer for the Chisos Mining Company. Around 1938 they moved to Shafter, where Dulces worked in the silver mines. In 1939 he worked 52 weeks and earned $923.00. By 1944 they had moved to Loving, New Mexico, where Dulces worked as a laborer in a potash refinery. On April 8, 1955 he was still a resident of Loving when he died in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He is buried in Loving Cemetery. Manuela died in Loving in October 1985.
Manuela and Dulces had eleven children:
A. Son Andres Ramirez Balderama was born November 10, 1921 in Terlingua. In April 1930 he was living with his parents in Terlingua, and in April 1940 he was living with his parents in Shafter. He was living in Carlsbad in April 1966.
B. Son Jose Balderama was born circa 1923 in Texas. In April 1930 he was living with his parents in Terlingua, and in April 1940 he was living with his parents in Shafter.
C. Son Antonio Ramirez Balderama was born November 7, 1924 in Terlingua. In April 1930 he was living with his parents in Terlingua.
D. Daughter Audalia Ramirez Balderama was born April 16, 1928 in Terlingua. In April 1940 she was living with her parents in Shafter.
E. Son Juan Balderama was born March 28, 1930 in Texas. In April 1940 he was living with his parents in Shafter. He died in Livermore, California August 21, 1999.
F. Son Joaquin Balderama was born August 27, 1932. His name was shown as Hilario in his birth record. He was living with his parents in Shafter in April 1940.
G. Son Leonardo Balderama was born October 31, 1934 in Terlingua. He died there June 28, 1935 and was buried the next day by his father.
H. Daughter Carlota Balderama was born November 3, 1935 in Terlingua. Her birth was attended by Midwife Severa Chavez. In April 1940 she was living with her parents in Shafter.
I. Son Julian Balderama was born February 16, 1938 in Terlingua. In April 1940 she was living with her parents in Shafter.
J. Daughter Wenceslada Balderama was born March 22, 1942 in Presidio County (probably Shafter).
K. Son Inocento Balderama was born in 1944 and died December 1, 1944 in Loving.
6. Son Jesus Ramirez was born circa 1902, probably in Sierra Chino. He worked as a ranch hand and a farmer. In 1927 and 1928 probably this Jesus rented parts of Sections 27 and 28 of Block 16 (down river from Sierra Chino) from B.B. Carpenter. In October 1979 he was living in Fort Stockton. 8. Daughter Leandra Ramirez was born May 9, 1905 in Sierra Chino. She was baptized in Terlingua September 11, 1905 by Father Brocardus. Her godparents were Leandro Silvas and Maria DeAnda. On June 27, 1925 she married Manuel Hinojos, the son of Lauro Hinojos and Isabel Ortega. The wedding was recorded in the records of St. Agnes Church in Terlingua, but the location of the event was not recorded. Their witnesses were Anastacio Acosta and Juana Sotelo. They lived in the Terlingua area, where Manuel worked as a mine laborer for the Rainbow Mining Co. Leandra died in Terlingua around 1933. Manuel died in Odessa November 15, 1987. They had three children:
A. Daughter Matilde Hinojos was born in Castolon March 17, 1927. She married Silverio Alarcon and they lived in Lajitas. She was murdered in her home in Lajitas June 3, 1946 and is buried in Terlingua. Her husband Silverio was arrested and convicted of the crime and was sentenced to life in prison. He died in prison in Fort Bend, Texas January 10, 1950 and is buried in Houston. They had one small child who was taken in by family members, but no further information is available.
B. Daughter Hilaria Hinojos was born February 18, 1929 in Terlingua. She married Alberto Ramos Rios December 19, 1945. He was born July 11, 1905 in Terlingua, the son of Manuel Rios and Maria Ramos. He was the brother of her father Manuel’s third wife, Paula Rios. Until about 1950 Hilaria and Alberto lived in Brewster County, where Alberto worked as a rancher. They then moved to Odessa, where Alberto worked for the Texas Pacific Railroad. He died in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa July 10, 1993 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. Hilaria was still living in Odessa at the time of his death: They had eight children.

(2) Daughter Leandra Ysabel Rios was born November 5, 1946 in Brewster County. She married Alonzo Olivarez in Odessa July 3, 1966. In July 1993 she was living in Odessa
(3) Daughter Celia Hinojos Rios was born April 5, 1948 in Brewster County. She married Orlando Barron Sanchez July 31, 1971. She was living in Seminole in July 1993. Celia and Orlando had two children:
a. Daughter Sandra Kay Sanchez was born December 24, 1970 in Odessa.
b. Son Mark Allen Sanchez was born April 7, 1975 in Andrews County.
(4) Daughter Elizabeth Rios was born March 19, 1950 in Brewster County. She married Juan “Johnny” Rosas Cortez September 1, 1968. He was born in Terlingua September 3, 1944, the son of Emiterio Cortez and Lazara Cisneros Rosas. Elizabeth and Juan were divorced in Odessa March 28, 1995. They had six children:
a. Son Juan Rios Cortez was born January 6, 1969 in Odessa.
b. Son James Rios Cortez was born April 26, 1970. He was born prematurely and died the next day in Medical Center Hospital, Odessa. He is buried in Odessa Cemetery.
c. Son Esteban Rios Cortez was born March 15, 1955 in Odessa.
d. Daughter Cortina Nicole Cortez was born December 29, 1978 in Odessa.
e. Son Dominique Andrew Cortez was born November 22, 1982 in Odessa.
f. Son James Alan Cortez was born September 26, 1985 in Odessa

After Leandra’s death Manuel married Elauteria Hernandez, daughter of Alberto Hernandez and Mauricia Lara. She was born circa 1919 in Texas. Until at least April 1940 they lived in the Terlingua area, where Manuel worked as a furnace man at the mines. In 1939 he worked 52 weeks and earned $699.00. Elauteria eventually left Manuel for another man. Manuel and Elauteria had three children:
A. Daughter Manuela “Nena” Hinojos was born in the Terlingua area June 11, 1935. He birth was attended by Chisos Mining Company physician E.A. Montenyohl, M.D.

11. Daughter Leonor Ramirez was born October 9, 1911 in Chisos. On September 8, 1930 she married Nicolas Espino, son of Feliz Espino and Ramona Sanchez. He was born in Terlingua December 6, 1903. By 1930 Nicolas was working as a mine laborer for the Chisos Mining Company. Around 1938 he and his family moved to Shafter, where he worked as a miner in the silver mines. In 1939 he worked 52 weeks and earned $780.00. They eventually moved to the Los Angeles, California area. They both died there, Leonor on July 14, 1988 and Nicolas on September 29, 1993. Leonor and Nicolas had six children:
A. Daughter Elvira Ruperta Espino was born March 27, 1933 in Terlingua. In April 1940 she was living with her parents in Shafter.
B. An unnamed son was stillborn in Terlingua April 12, 1934.
C. Son Alberto Espino was born June 6, 1936 in Terlingua. In April 1940 he was living with his parents in Shafter.
