Andres Reyes, Sr., 76 of Alpine died February 16 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Rosary and Mass were held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church conducted by Rev. Jose Antonio Martinez. Military graveside rites were conducted by the Alpine VFW at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Reyes was born November 30, 1916 in Terlingua and had lived in Alpine most of his life. He was a Catholic and was married to Genoveva Aranda in May of 1946. Reyes was an Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the Alpine VFW and was a former employee of the City of Alpine.
Survivors include his wife, Genoveva Reyes of Alpine; three daughters, Laura Garcia of Florida, Tina Sanchez and Rebecca Ybarra both of Alpine; one son, Andres Reyes Jr. of San Antonio; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were, Merardo Reyes Jr.,, Eddie Rios, Lionel “Boy” Martinez Jr., Frank Aranda, Robert (Bobby) Reyes Sr., and Dwayne Reyes.
Arrangements were made by Geeslin Funeral Home.
